Community Development Assistant

Community Development Assistants work in the Community Development Center (CDC) which is the supply and craft resource space for student leaders within the residence halls. Community Development Assistants help to maintain supplies, staff the desk, and help to provide resources to the student leaders.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE SUBMITTED VIA STARREZ/HOUSING PORTAL, NOT HANDSHAKE

Typical duties include:
  • Greet and assist any residential life student staff, student leader, and/or professional staff that visits the CDC
  • Complete a variety of requests sent in such as prints, die-cuts, laminations, etc. in a timely mannerĀ 
  • Assist in creating a variety of programming resources for Residential Life community building
  • Maintain organization within the CDC resource room, restocking and reorganizing as needed
  • Communicate with team members and supervisor to provide updates about the CDC daily operations

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be an NAU student, enrolled at least part-time (6 credits for undergrad students)
  • Must have and maintain a 2.5 Cumulative GPA

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solving skills
  • Ability to create and maintain clean and organized work/project area
  • Experience in providing quality customer service to people from different backgrounds
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse population in a positive/informative way
  • Team player with a positive attitude and an overall willingness to work
  • Priority may be given to applicants who have worked with Residential Life
