ITS Classroom Support Student Employee

ITS Classroom Support is seeking student workers to provide technical assistance to users of NAU Mountain Campus learning environments, including classrooms, conference rooms, computer labs, and general learning spaces. This opening is for our South Campus team.

DESCRIPTION:
• Starting Wage: $10/hr
• Provide direct and indirect technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, and classroom A/V technology.  
• Investigate system failures and error messages to identify hardware and software problems or end-user training deficiencies.
• Conduct hardware and software installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare documentation, training, and support materials.
• Provide quality service to meet customer expectations and maintain excellent customer relations.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Additional merit/performance based wage increases, as warranted.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be a currently-enrolled and matriculating NAU student.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week (max 20).  
• Must have the ability to do some lifting (e.g. computers, displays, printers).
• Must have the ability to think critically under pressure and be highly trainable.
• Must have outstanding customer service skills.
• Must have excellent personal, telephone, and written communication skills, and the ability to work with clients with disabilities and of varied cultural backgrounds.
• This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position, requiring the successful completion of a background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Available to work two or more weeknights (Monday through Thursday between 4 PM and 7:30 PM).
• Self-starter and self-finisher.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Detail oriented and thorough.
• Ability to remain diligent, manage time effectively, and work on multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and other user support staff.  
• Knowledge of computer operating systems (Mac OS, MS Windows), basic network concepts, and familiarity with productivity software.
• Web search (e.g. Google) familiarity.
• Ability to digest search results and technical documents to formulate solutions to, or apply known solutions to, reported issues and emerging problems.
