Auditoria Event Support Staff

Position Overview:

Join the NAU Auditoria team!

Auditoria Student Staff play a key role in ensuring the success of events in Ardrey Memorial Auditorium, Kitt Recital Hall, and Ashurst Hall. This position offers hands-on experience in Front of House and Stage operations. Opportunities to train in Audio, Video, Rigging, Lighting, and Event Management are available.

Primary responsibilities as an Usher include:

  • Greeting and assisting guests.
  • Scanning tickets and distributing programs.
  • Enforcing house rules and ensuring audience safety.
  • Cleaning before and after events.

With additional training, you may assist with stage operations, including:

  • Moving equipment and setting up performance spaces.
  • Operating theatrical lighting, video, and sound systems.
  • Performing maintenance and specialized tasks.

Work hours vary weekly based on event schedules. High evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all written rules and regulations provided by Auditoria Management.
  • Ensure the safety of the public, performers, and fellow crew members.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor to create a positive NAU/Auditoria experience.
  • Operate equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Arrive on time and in proper uniform.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be an active NAU student (enrolled in classes and degree/certificate seeking).
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work with the public.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Demonstrated initiative and reliability.
  • Federal Work-Study eligible students are encouraged to apply.

Physical Demands:

This position may require:

  • Standing, walking, talking, and hearing for extended periods.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted and 75 lbs with assistance.
  • Climbing ladders, using lifts, and working at heights.
  • Using walkie-talkies and wearing earbud communication during events.
  • Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and depth perception.
